The Basics of Poker

Poker is a card game where players compete to win the most money. There are several different forms of poker, with variations in rules and betting limits. However, the basic principle of the game is the same.

The Game

In poker, players are dealt five cards face down and bet according to the hand. The players then have a choice of discarding up to three cards, or taking them back and drawing for additional cards.
